Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) briefly traded the House floor for a television studio, stepping in as guest host of Rep. Matt Gaetzs primetime program on the pro-MAGA network One America News (OAN).
According to Mediaite, Boeberts appearance marked a rare instance of a sitting member of Congress assuming the role of anchor on a national cable outlet, underscoring the increasingly direct media engagement of conservative lawmakers. Promoting the broadcast in advance, she highlighted a slate of topics focused on border security and election integrity, including what she described as the rampant problem of non-citizens voting in U.S. elections.
Her guest list reflected a coalition of right-leaning voices, featuring Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), election lawyer Cleta Mitchell, comedian Rob Schneider, Citizens Alliance CEO Cliff Maloney, and Christian singer/songwriter Sean Feucht. Opening the show, Boebert emphasized her personal and political ties to the host, referring to Gaetz as a friend.
Gaetz, now a nightly presence on OAN, resigned from Congress in late 2024 after President Donald Trump nominated him to serve as attorney general, a nomination that was later withdrawn amid mounting controversy. The House Ethics Committee subsequently released a long-delayed report alleging that Gaetz regularly paid women for engaging in sexual activity with him, including a 17-year-old girl who was under the influence of ecstasy at the time.
The same report asserted that nearly every woman interviewed by investigators could not remember the details of at least one or more of the events they attended with Representative Gaetz and attributed that to drug or alcohol consumption. Gaetz has denied wrongdoing, and his continued prominence on a pro-MAGA platform, alongside Boeberts high-profile guest hosting, signals that grassroots conservative media remain willing to give him a voice even as Washingtons establishment keeps its distance.
