Biden To Drop A Post-White House Memoir Timed To Crash Back Into Midterms

Joe Biden is set to release a new memoir this fall, timed for just two weeks after critical midterm elections in which Democrats hope to claw back control of Congress.

According to Breitbart, the book, titled *Promise Me, America*, will be published by Little, Brown and Company, which told the Associated Press the octogenarian secured a reported $10 million advance. It is scheduled to hit shelves on November 17, a date that conveniently pushes any renewed scrutiny of Bidens record until after voters have cast their ballots.

The memoir will focus on his four years in the Oval Office, a period many on the left now debate as they reassess his troubled bid for a second term. As Breitbart News reported, the project arrives amid persistent questions about Bidens mental decline while he was in the White House and the alleged use of an autopen to mask his limitations.

Democrat leaders, wary of reopening internal wounds, are determined to keep the fall campaign centered on the record of Republican President Donald Trump rather than Bidens failed political comeback. They face the challenge of defending an aging party figure who drifted out of view once his efforts to reclaim the presidency collapsed and his own base turned against him.

Promise Me, America is about the challenges we faced as a nation. Its about the decisions I made and why I made them, Biden said in a video statement released with Wednesdays announcement. Most of all, its about my faith in the promise of America.

The title deliberately echoes his 2017 memoir *Promise Me, Dad*, which focused on the death of his son, Beau Biden, and helped craft the emotional narrative that once buoyed his political fortunes. A Little, Brown spokesperson said Biden, 83, plans a national tour to promote the book and will be available for interviews, ensuring his version of history reaches readers even as voters and critics continue to question the record he is now attempting to defend.
