Scott Jennings Exposes Stunning Reason Democrats Are Finally Bailing On Graham Platner

Graham Platners once-promising Senate bid in Maine is collapsing under the weight of allegations and a record that Democrats were happy to ignore until it became politically inconvenient.

According to the Gateway Pundit, Platner is hemorrhaging endorsements and canceling campaign events as new, serious accusations emerge, suggesting his withdrawal from the race may be only a matter of time. Yet what is drawing particular scrutiny is not just Platners conduct, but the sudden moral awakening of Democrats who had previously brushed aside a long list of red flags. On CNN, conservative commentator Scott Jennings sharply criticized the left for only now abandoning Platner, largely because the latest accuser is a progressive who shares Platners political views.

Jennings rejected the claim that Platner had somehow slipped through the cracks of opposition research. The only thing I disagree with is when she said that he hadnt been vetted, he said. No, he had been vetted! He reminded viewers that all of the things that have been stated, it was all out in the public and people like Ro Khanna, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Tim Walz, the Bulwark, Pod Save America, all these people came together to overlook it all, to explain it all, to rationalize it all.

He was vetted. People knew all these things and a whole bunch of Democrats in Maine showed up and voted for him anyway. And a bunch of donors from around the country sent him money anyway. Jennings then drove home the central question that exposes the lefts selective outrage: I agree with Alyssas question. What changed? Why are you bailing on Graham Platner now?!

Jennings noted that Democrats had already accepted behavior and associations that would have destroyed any Republican candidacy. You already signed off on Nazi tattoo, a self-described communist, somebody whos had rape fantasies, somebody who has been on a social media platform known as a playground for predators. He added, And on and on and on and on and on.

For Jennings, the only real shift is political convenience, not principle. And the difference between this accuser and the previous one is simply this, shes a liberal. Its okay, I guess, for Democrats that their candidates assault conservatives. He continued, But he broke into someones house. And apparently, according to her, raped her. And because her politics are correct, they can now believe it.

Jenningss critique underscores a broader pattern conservatives have long highlighted: Democrats and their media allies enforce moral standards only when it serves their electoral interests. The moment it was revealed that Platner had a Nazi tattoo, that alone should have been disqualifying, yet the left and its donors stood by him because they are desperate to capture a Senate seat. Now that the alleged victim is a liberal, Democrats are scrambling for the exits, revealing that their concern is less about justice and more about protecting their brand.
