A self-described socialist and Democrat state representative, Francesca Hong, is seeking Wisconsins governorship on a platform that includes taxpayer-funded gender transition procedures for children.
According to the Gateway Pundit, Hong, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, is aligning her campaign with the far-lefts ongoing push to normalize and subsidize radical gender ideology, even for minors. Despite mounting public concern over the medicalization of children and the long-term consequences of such interventions, the progressive wing of the Democratic Party shows no sign of retreating from this agenda.
Breitbart News reports that the Madison legislator said she supports using public funding to expand gender-affirming care, including for transgender youth. During a January appearance on the Take 2 Podcast, Hong argued that Wisconsin should pour public resources into clinics that provide these controversial treatments to minors.
We have to look at expanding health care, especially gender-affirming care. And right now, when our hospitals are under threat of providing gender-affirming care, which hospitals have paused right now, Hong said. We have to make sure that communities are coming together to stand up for trans rights. Look at ways that we can invest in clinics to still provide that care, and be vocal about uplifting trans joy, and defending trans lives.
Hong further insisted that elected officials must not retreat from this cause, even as parents, medical professionals, and lawmakers across the country raise alarms about irreversible procedures on children. Its important that elected officials not cave to the pressures of not standing up for trans folks, she said, signaling her intent to double down rather than compromise.
In keeping with the broader DSA platform, Hong also reportedly favors curbing immigration enforcement, a stance that critics argue would weaken border security and undermine the rule of law. Combined with her push for state-funded gender transition care for minors, her agenda reflects a sweeping rejection of traditional values, parental authority, and limited government.
For Wisconsin voters, the question is whether they are prepared to hand the governors office to a candidate whose priorities include subsidizing experimental treatments for children and rolling back immigration enforcement. With the stakes involving both national security and the cultural foundations of family and community, conservatives warn that these people are a genuine threat to Americas national security, in addition to our values and traditions, and urge citizens to wake up to this fact and soon.
