Watch: Megyn Kelly Explodes Over Turncoat Amy Coney Barrett After Mail-In Ballot Bombshell

SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly unleashed a blistering critique of Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett after Barrett authored the majority opinion in a closely watched mail-in voting case that dealt a blow to President Donald Trumps efforts to tighten election rules.

Kellys remarks followed a similar rebuke from former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, who condemned Barrett for aligning with the Courts liberal bloc in the 54 ruling, according to Mediaite. Barretts opinion permits mail-in ballots to be counted after Election Day, a decision that has alarmed conservatives who see it as another step toward loosening already fragile election safeguards. For many on the right, the ruling reinforces a pattern in which Republican-appointed justices drift left once they reach the high court, undermining the originalist and constitutionalist jurisprudence they were expected to uphold.

Shes supposed to be one of ours, Kelly raged, capturing the sense of betrayal felt by many conservatives who backed Barretts confirmation in the expectation she would reliably defend election integrity. The host went on to brand Barrett a turncoat and broadened her criticism to include Chief Justice John Roberts, both of whom joined liberal Justices Sonya Sotomayor, Ketanji Jackson Brown and Elana Kagan in the majority.

Just as Amy Coney Barrett, a Trump appointee, shes supposed to be one of ours. Why do ours, why are they always so wiggly? Kelly asked, contrasting that perceived inconsistency with the lefts rigid voting bloc. Honestly, like the libs, you can take it to the bank. Kagan, Sotomayor, Katanji Brown Jackson. I have to admire their commitment to their side. They never abandoned their side, only in the most obvious cases where like they, I mean, theyd just get killed if they didnt in terms of the blowback, the rhetorical blowback. But they stick together.

Amy Coney Barrett is a turncoat. Shes constantly siding with the left, Kelly continued, arguing that Barretts jurisprudence increasingly departs from the conservative principles that justified her appointment. She then turned her fire on the Chief Justice: John Roberts, obviously, and he is pursuing the wrong agenda as Chief Justice. You know, hes an institutionalist meant to protect the Supreme Court. Thats not your job. Thats not your job in the actual decision-making. And I can see in protecting the Supreme courts reputation standing up for justices who are under attack, you know, threatened physically, but you change your vote for that? I dont know that thats what he did here, but its definitely what he didnt upholding Obamacare.

So those two, you know, were supposed to have six, three conservatives to Libs. And today we only had four conservatives and thats how we lost because Roberts and Barrett jumped over to the liberal side and Barrett even wrote the courts majority opinion, Kelly lamented, warning that the ruling will reverberate far beyond the case at hand. Mississippis a red state, But the decision is expected to have a major impact. More than anywhere in Democrat-heavy states For conservatives already skeptical of expansive mail-in voting and judicial overreach, Kellys tirade underscores a growing concern: that a Court presumed to be 63 conservative may, in practice, be far less reliable when the stakes involve election law and the balance of political power.
