This odd protest comes on the heels of more serious vandalism at the same location, where left-wing agitators slashed the new blue sealant on the pool floor and scrawled 86 47 threats, widely understood as a call to eliminate the 47th President. One man was allegedly arrested after leaping into the water and seizing hoses from female Park Service employees who were simply performing maintenance.
For weeks, similar anti-Trump defacement has plagued the site, underscoring how even basic preservation work has become politicized by the far left. While ordinary Americans welcome the restoration of national monuments and the literal and figurative draining of the swamp, these activists have elevated algae removal into a supposed moral crusade.
The same faction that sued to block the blue coating, defaced the memorial with 86 47 graffiti, and now rallies around pond scum, continues to target a project meant to beautify the nations capital. The National Park Service is doing its job, and President Trump is delivering on his promise to make Washington beautiful again, while the radical left is protesting algae.
