Texas Firebrand Chip Roy Unveils MAMDANI Act To Ban Socialists And Islamists From America

Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, has unveiled legislation designed to bar entry, naturalization, and continued residence in the United States for foreign nationals aligned with extremist or totalitarian ideologies.

According to The Daily Signal, the Measures Against Marxisms Dangerous Adherents and Noxious Islamists (MAMDANI) Act would revise federal immigration law to deny admission or citizenship to any alien who is, or has been, a member or advocate of specified radical movements. Breitbart first reported that this would apply to any alien who is a member of a socialist party, a communist party, the Chinese Communist Party, or Islamic fundamentalist party, or advocates for socialism, communism, Marxism, or Islamic fundamentalism, as outlined in a news release on Roys congressional website.

The bills title pointedly references socialist New York City lawmaker Zohran Mamdani, underscoring Roys warning about the spread of leftist and Islamist ideologies. Across the world, openly socialist governments have given mass amnesty to millions of invading Muslims, resulting in horrific crimes targeting Christians, and terrorist attacks in the name of jihad, Roy told The Daily Signal.

While the Muslim Brotherhood has long sought to export its barbarism to the U.S., by implementing the MAMDANI Act we can forcefully fight back against the Marxist and Islamist invasion of our country. The legislation would also create new grounds for deportation, allowing removal of aliens who advocate Marxist or Islamist doctrines or promote them through written or electronic communications.

The measure further stipulates that determinations under the act would be final, blocking denaturalized or deported individuals from contesting those decisions. Rep. Keith Self, R-Texas, called the proposal a first move toward restoring sanity to what conservatives see as a dangerously lax immigration regime, saying it addresses a broken immigration system.

For decades, America has imported people who hate our country, reject our culture, and seek to replace Western values with Marxism, socialism, and Islamism, Self told The Daily Signal. Its time to pass the MAMDANI Act, secure our borders, and send a clear message: those who want to destroy our civilization are not welcome here.

Roy and his allies cite recent violent crimes by individuals with terrorism-related histories as proof that current safeguards are inadequate. In one such case, Mohamed Jallohindicted and sentenced in 2017 for ISIS-related activity but released in 2021 after claiming to have renounced the groupkilled a member of the Reserve Officers Training Corps at Old Dominion University in March, a tragedy conservatives argue could have been prevented by tougher, ideology-based immigration controls.
