According to Western Journal, the president told reporters inside the White House that American forces had quietly overseen the movement of millions of barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow Persian Gulf chokepoint long used by Iran to menace international shipping. He paired his remarks with a detailed post on his Truth Social platform, underscoring both the scale of the mission and his view that U.S. power not Iranian intimidation now dictates the terms in one of the worlds most strategically vital waterways.
You know, I can say it now, something you didnt know, Trump said in the Oval Office, explaining that the operation had been kept under wraps until its success was assured. Did you know weve been taking out millions of barrels of oil? Nobody knows it. You know who doesnt know about it? Iran, until right now.
He then sketched out a dramatic account of nighttime action at sea, suggesting that U.S. forces had neutralized Iranian capabilities while shepherding commercial traffic. More than 200 Commercial Ships have safely traveled through the Strait. This wildly successful effort is because the UNITED STATES of AMERICA CONTROLS the Strait of Hormuz NOT Iran. Their military is defeated, and their economy is lost. Its over for Iran! the president asserted.
Trump acknowledged that keeping the operation secret had been a personal challenge, hinting at the tension between operational security and his instinct to speak directly to the American people. But now Im gonna tell you because they just figured it out, he continued. So now that they figured it out I can tell you. It was very hard for me. I wanted to say it so badly, but I didnt want to ruin it. But it was very hard. But millions of barrels of oil has come out. And thats why its at $85-$90 a barrel instead of $250.
