Domestic Violence Stalking Twist: Ex-Veritas Insider Uses Miami-Dade Restraining Order To Disarm James OKeefe

The escalating campaign against free expression has now expanded into a direct strike on the right to keep and bear arms, with investigative journalist James OKeefe reporting that police have confiscated his entire firearms collection.

According to Gateway Pundit, OKeefe revealed Thursday night that law enforcement officers raided the offices of his OKeefe Media Group and seized his weapons under the authority of a temporary restraining order issued by a Miami-Dade family court. The police just came to my office and confiscated all my firearms. Just happened, OKeefe posted on X, describing what he portrays as a politically charged abuse of the legal system aimed at silencing and disarming a prominent conservative journalist.

The restraining order, labeled a domestic violence stalking measure, was reportedly initiated by Matthew Tyrmand, a former Project Veritas board member who has become one of OKeefes most aggressive adversaries. Earlier this month, OKeefe was served with the order while livestreaming from his West Palm Beach, Florida, headquarters, turning a routine broadcast into a real-time illustration of how civil processes can be weaponized.

Palm Beach County Sheriffs Department just served me with a domestic violence restraining order from Matthew Tyrmand. The former board member from Project Veritas who said he wants to murder me, OKeefe said, underscoring the irony of being targeted by a man he accuses of openly fantasizing about his death. Despite admitting multiple times on hidden camera wanting me dead, Matthew Tyrmand filed a restraining order against ME in Miami Dade County, OKeefe said, framing the case as a textbook example of projection and legal inversion.

Saying such things as: I would kill him [OKeefe]. Because he is one of the most evil people Ive ever known, he said, quoting Tyrmands alleged remarks captured in a covert recording. He even shot up my book with rifle bullets through my heart on the cover. The audacity of evil has no bounds, OKeefe said, arguing that the true threat is being rewarded with state power while the target is stripped of his constitutional protections.

The clash follows the 2023 internal coup at Project Veritas, when the board ousted OKeefe as chairman after he had built the group into a multi-million-dollar investigative powerhouse through high-impact undercover operations. Since then, OKeefe has fought to regain control of Project Veritas while simultaneously launching OKeefe Media Group, which has rapidly emerged as another successful conservative media venture challenging establishment narratives.

In February, OKeefe says he honey-trapped Tyrmand at a Miami Beach restaurant, secretly recording a conversation in which Tyrmand allegedly admitted to serving as an informant for the FBI and the Southern District of New York. During that same encounter, Tyrmand allegedly threatens to murder James OKeefe, And Puts Rifle Bullets In OKeefes Heart On The Front Of His Book Breakthrough, a chilling image that now stands in stark contrast to the states decision to disarm the journalist rather than the man he accuses of making the threats.
