Acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Todd Lyons marked the first anniversary of the revived Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office by underscoring its mission to shine a light on Americans whose lives have been devastated by crimes committed by illegal aliens.
According to RedState, the VOICE Office, originally launched under President Trump during his first term, was designed to give victims and their families a dedicated point of contact as they navigate a system that too often ignores their suffering. The office was later dissolved under Joe Biden, only to be restored under President Trumps renewed effort to prioritize border security and the rights of American citizens over the demands of open-borders activists.
Speaking in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, Lyons addressed Angel familiesAmericans who have lost loved ones to criminal illegal aliensand explained the moral core of ICEs work. That's the main reason why ICE and our law enforcement partners are out there so these angel families will finally get justice.
Lyons remarks come as ICE officers continue to face relentless demonization from the Left, where activists and some Democrat politicians have smeared them as Nazis and likened the agency to the Gestapo. While progressive protesters attempt to obstruct enforcement operations, their outrage rarely extends to the grieving families whose lives have been shattered by offenders who never should have been in the country in the first place.
One such case highlighted by ICE involves Jennifer Bos, whose daughter Megan was found dead, her body abused in a bleach storage container at the house of an illegal alien. When sanctuary politicians failed her, ICE was there to support Jennifer Bos after her daughter Megans body was found abused in a bleach storage container at the house of an illegal alien.
As reported by RedState, Sanctuary Illinois politicians released this illegal alien from jail back into American communities. ICE arrested him in July 2025. That sequence of events underscores the stark contrast between local officials who prioritize ideological sanctuary policies and federal officers who are left to pick up the pieces after tragedy strikes.
The Trump administration has made clear that it will not abandon these families or the officers who defend them. The Trump administration and @ICEgov will ALWAYS stand with Angel families.
Conservatives have long asked why ICE continues to endure vilification from the Left instead of simply stepping back and allowing the crisis to fester, as Democrats effectively did when they turned a blind eye to border chaos. Likewise, outlets like RedState keep telling the stories that legacy media such as CNN and The New York Times largely ignore, including the cases of Laken Riley, Jocelyn Nungaray, Rachel Morin, and many others whose names rarely appear in establishment coverage.
ICE and the VOICE Office have provided a clear answer. This is our why. The resources the VOICE office provides enable victims of illegal alien crime to pursue the justice they deserve. Angel families will always have the support of @POTUS Trump, DHS, and @ICEgov. You are why we fight.
Former President Joe Bidens open the doors wide immigration policies, which allowed tens of millions of illegal aliens to flood into the country, created a humanitarian and public safety disaster that President Trumps administration is now working to reverse. While Democrats have shrieked and howled as the Trump administration has tried to clean up the mess he made but they show little compassion for the victims and families,
ICE is demonstrating that enforcement is not just about repatriating illegal aliens; it is about honoring the dead, standing with the living, and ensuring that those who paid the highest price are never forgotten.
