Robert De Niro, once hailed as one of Hollywoods greatest talents, has again lashed out at President Donald Trump, insisting that people dont like him because of all the terrible things hes done, while ignoring the relentless campaign waged against Trump by the left for nearly a decade.
According to Gateway Pundit, De Niros remarks came in response to President Trumps observation that the actor suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome, a label the actor angrily rejected as nonsense before declaring that the president is damaged. De Niro, who has become a reliable mouthpiece for Hollywoods progressive elite, continues to portray himself as a moral authority while his own side has tried to bankrupt Trump, prosecute him, and even cheer on efforts to jail him, all while pretending to be the victims of meanness.
Breitbart News reported that when political correspondent Nicholas Ballasy asked, What do you say to Trump and his allies who are saying you have the TDS Trump Derangement Syndrome? De Niro snapped back, Nonsense. He then escalated his rhetoric, claiming, People dont like him for a reason, of all the terrible things hes done.
The actor went further, moralizing about how Trump should have behaved in office, saying, If he did nice things he had the chance, he became president, to do nice things, not hateful, retribution, just outright mean things if he did nice things, people would love him, before concluding, But hes got a problem. Hes damaged. When asked what his main criticism is of President Trump, De Niro offered a one-word answer that underscored the irrational nature of his hostility: Everything.
For many Americans, De Niro now embodies the Hollywood crybully archetype a man who talks tough until his side loses an election, then collapses into public tantrums and televised meltdowns. He was such a celebrated actor for so many years, but by repeatedly parading his political obsessions and personal animus, he has basically destroyed his legacy in the eyes of countless viewers who will remember him less for his craft and more for his unhinged crusade against a president they chose.
