Comedian and podcaster Adam Carolla has blasted longtime network anchor Katie Couric and a broader class of legacy media figures for what he sees as dishonest claims of political neutrality and fawning treatment of Democrat politicians.
According to the Gateway Pundit, Carollas latest criticism was sparked by Courics recent interview with California Governor Gavin Newsom, during which she gushed over his looks in a display reminiscent of the celebrity-style coverage Democrats enjoyed throughout the Obama years. The exchange, in Carollas view, underscored how corporate media personalities routinely flatter high-profile Democrats while insisting they are merely neutral referees.
Referencing a clip shared by Western Lensman, Carolla did not mince words: F*ck Katie Couric by the way. F*ck all these newscasters. He went on to mock the standard media line about impartiality, saying, Just do the math, everybody. Theyre all fair and balanced right down the middle, just calling balls and strikes. I dont bring my own politics in anything.
Carolla argued that the mask only slips once these figures leave their networks, at which point their ideological leanings become impossible to ignore. The second they retire from whatever news outlet they work for, theyre all hard lefties, he said, adding, Theyre hard lefties who are trying to pass themselves off as just people calling balls and strikes. No, youre f*cking not. Thats the problem with the legacy media.
The pattern is hardly limited to Couric, conservatives note, pointing to figures such as Jim Acosta, Don Lemon, Terry Moran, and Jennifer Rubin. Each spent years presenting as neutral, fact-driven journalists, only to embrace openly left-wing commentary once they landed on platforms like cable opinion shows or Substackconfirming, for many on the right, that the centrist label in legacy media is little more than a branding exercise.
