Bill Maher Goes After Mamdani In Blunt Take (Video)

HBO host Bill Maher used his closing monologue on Fridays Real Time to brand New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani a straight-up Communist, warning Democrats that denying the hard-left ideology in their ranks will cost them at the ballot box.

According to Breitbart, Maher built his case by arguing that both the left and the right are only absorbing half of what is actually happening in the news, filtered through partisan narratives and social media algorithms. He admonished Republicans by insisting that Renee Good didnt need to be shot and wasnt trying to run the officer over, while also accusing many on the right of ignoring alleged self-dealing by the Trump family involving their businesses and cryptocurrency.

Maher claimed conservatives are reluctant to criticize their own leaders, contrasting that with his frequent attacks on the far left, even as he remains a liberal. He argued that comments from New York City Director of the Mayors Office to Protect Tenants Cea Weaver never penetrate the curated feeds of progressives, shielding them from the radicalism within their own movement.

Turning to Mayor Mamdani, Maher said, Democrats seem to be having this debate whether or not Mayor Mamdani is a socialist or a democratic socialist. Let me settle it: Hes a straight-up Communist. How do I know this? Well, Im reading between the lines when one of his major advisers says, elect more Communists, which is fine, its fine, its a belief system. He added that Hes allowed to believe it, and people are allowed to vote for it, but if liberals deny it like hes just going through a goth phase, theyre going to lose more elections.

For conservatives, Mahers warning underscores a growing reality: Democrats are struggling to contain an openly socialist, even communist, faction that no longer hides its agenda, while voters increasingly recoil from the chaos and economic damage that radical policies bring.
