Minnesotas most powerful Republican in Congress has issued a blunt demand for Gov. Tim Walz to step down as violence and political tensions intensify across Minneapolis.
According to Sean Hannity, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, the third-ranking Republican in the U.S. House, is sharply increasing pressure on Walz as unrest continues to roil the city and agitators clash with federal law enforcement in the wake of the Trump administrations immigration enforcement efforts.
Emmer, reflecting growing conservative frustration with what many see as weak Democratic leadership on law and order, is positioning Walzs governorship as a direct threat to public safety.
The scenes of destruction and damage taking place in Minneapolis are abhorrent. This violence cannot be tolerated, Emmer declared in a statement on Thursday, underscoring a core conservative principle that public order is a non-negotiable duty of government. Tim Walz should resign, effective immediately. The safety of Minnesotans depends on it.
Walz, instead of accepting responsibility for the breakdown in security, attempted to deflect blame toward President Trump in a message posted on X, urging all sides to turn down the temperature while simultaneously accusing the President of seeking disorder. By claiming that chaos is what the President wants, Walz signaled his intent to politicize the unrest rather than confront the failures of his own administration, further deepening the divide between those demanding accountability and those seeking to shift the narrative.
