Watch: Somali Daycare Worker Curses Viciously At ReporterWhoa!

A staff member at a Minnesota daycare center, which has come under scrutiny for fraud allegations, reacted angrily to a New York Post reporter's inquiry on Monday.

According to the Daily Caller, YouTuber Nick Shirley's documentary, which has gained significant attention, claims that nearly a dozen taxpayer-funded daycare centers operated by Somalis in Minnesota are not providing any actual services. At the Quality of Learing Center, where "learning" is misspelled, an employee responded with profanity when questioned about potential fraud at the facility.

"Whats your response to the allegations? Is there fraud going on here?" the reporter inquired, only to be met with, "Get the fuck out of here," from the staff member, who refused further comment.

Shirley's investigation revealed that the center, despite its license to care for 99 children, appeared inactive. He reported that the facility received $1.9 million in 2025 and a total of $4 million from Minnesotas Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). Ali Ibrahim, the owner's son, defended the center, stating that Shirley visited outside of business hours.

"I do feel like what was done was someone came to our building outside of operating hours. We have a specific sign on our door that says our days and our hours. [They] came outside of those hours and then claimed, Hey, theyre closed, and theyre still making money,'" Ibrahim explained.

Minnesota Department of Children, Youth and Families Commissioner Tikki Brown noted that investigations have not found any fraudulent activities at these centers. However, reports of widespread fraud involving Somali-run operations in Minnesota have captured national interest.

In December, federal prosecutors charged numerous defendants, predominantly Somali Americans, with allegedly embezzling over $9 billion in federal funds meant for social programs, including those feeding vulnerable children. Seventy-eight individuals face charges for allegedly misappropriating over $350 million from Feeding Our Future, a federal child nutrition initiative.

In response to Shirley's documentary, Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced on Sunday that his administration has initiated investigations into the implicated facilities to "crack down on fraud." State officials have criticized Walz, accusing him of "willfully" ignoring "rules and laws to keep fraud reports quiet," thereby contributing to the ongoing issues.
