In a remarkable turn of events, President Donald Trump illuminated the White House, following a proposition from Israeli-American billionaire and mega-donor, Miriam Adelson.
Adelson suggested the idea of Trump running for a third term and even offered an additional $250 million to support his campaign.
As reported by Gateway Pundit, this extraordinary exchange occurred during the annual Hanukkah candle-lighting ceremony at the White House. Trump, in his address, lauded Adelson as the leading contributor to his campaign for the 2024 election cycle. He revealed that Adelson had already donated a staggering $250 million to aid his potential return to office.
"Miriam gave my campaign indirectly, $250 million. She was number one. When somebody can give you $250 million, I think we should give her the opportunity to say hello," Trump declared.
The President then invited Adelson to the podium, introducing her as an "incredible woman" and extolling her late husband, Sheldon Adelson, as a staunch and unrepentant advocate of Israel. Adelson, in her speech, expressed her enduring admiration for Trump, recalling her attendance at one of his addresses at the Israeli Knesset despite experiencing physical discomfort.
The event took an unexpected political twist when Adelson disclosed a recent conversation she had with Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz. "And now I met Alan Dershowitz," Adelson stated. "And he said, the legal thing about four more years. And I said, Alan, I agree with you. So we can do it. Think about it." This statement instantly electrified the room, triggering chants of "Four more years! Four more years!" from the audience.
Trump, grinning broadly, returned to the microphone and dropped a bombshell. "She said, 'Think about it. I'll give you another $250."
In a previous interaction with journalists aboard Air Force One on the way to Tokyo in October, Trump did not dismiss the idea of a third term when questioned about comments made by Steve Bannon. "I haven't really thought about it," Trump began. "We have some very good people as you know, but I have the best poll numbers I've ever had. I mean I just solved eight wars and a ninth is coming. I believe Russia Ukraine will happen."
Trump continued, "Well, we have great people. Well, I don't have to get into that, but we have one of them standing right here. We have JD, obviously. The vice president is great. Marco is great. I'm not sure if anybody would run again. I think if they have a form to grip it would be unstoppable, I do. I really believe that. I would love to do it. I have my best numbers ever. It's very terrible. I have my best numbers and if you read it"
Interrupting, the reporter asked, "You're not ruling out a third term?" To which Trump responded, "Am I not ruling it out? I mean, you'll have to tell me. All I can tell you is that we have a great group of people which they don't."
This intriguing development has sparked a flurry of speculation and debate about the possibility of Trump's return to the political arena. The President's comments, coupled with Adelson's substantial financial backing, suggest that a third term might not be entirely off the table.
