Bob Lee, the founder of Cash App, was found dead in San Francisco last month.
He was allegedly a part of the city's elite-only underground sex and drug scene, which he frequented with Khazar Momeni, the sister of his accused killer, Nima Momeni.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Lee was involved in a group called "The Lifestyle," an exclusive club for wealthy individuals who enjoy the drug and party scene. Lee allegedly began sleeping with Khazar Momeni, who was married to a prominent plastic surgeon at the time.
Lee's friends grew concerned about the people he had invited into his circle, which plunged him into a dangerous lifestyle of drug use and partying. They revealed that Lee would travel around the world to attend raves and would take cocaine and ketamine.
According to prosecutors, an argument broke out between Lee and Nima Momeni regarding the tech-guru's alleged affair and hard-partying with Khazar when he was repeatedly stabbed in the early hours of April near the Bay Bridge, which is located just 16 minutes from Khazar's apartment.
Devon Meyers, a friend of Lee, told the outlet that the tech programmer used these parties to network and unwind, noting that the group has strict rules in regards to heavy drinking or being too handsy which would result in members getting kicked out.
Another friend and member of "The Lifestyle," Harper Reed, the CEO of General Calacic Corporation, recounted the time that both he and Lee, a father of two who had separated from his wife, stripped off their pants in order to attend one of the parties, according to the outlet.
According to prosecutors, both Meyers and Reed disclosed that they were attending a house party the night before Lee's death on April 3 when Nima had confronted Lee asking if he was "doing drugs or anything inappropriate" with his sister. Court documents show that Khazar had texted Lee multiple times during the time of the fatal stabbing, checking in to see if he was "okay."
Krista Lee, the tech mogul's ex-wife, denied allegations that Lee was a partier and told the outlet, "He was a dedicated father." She also denied knowing about "The Lifestyle" and denied Lee being involved stating, "He was more mature than that." Lee had cocaine and ketamine in his system at the time of his death, according to the San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiners autopsy report.
Nima was arrested and charged with murder on April 13, and faces up to 26 years in prison, according to New York Post.
