Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is reportedly laying the groundwork for a potential presidential bid, as suggested by Fox News host Laura Ingraham.
Ingraham remarked that the Democratic representative is "building the most powerful political operation weve seen since Obama," hinting at her ambitions for the 2028 presidential race.
As reported by The Post Millennial, Ingraham took to X to express her views, stating, "AOC is positioning herself to run for president in 2028. Republicans, as you fight amongst yourselves, shes building the most powerful political operation weve seen since Obama." This comment was in response to a video from Ocasio-Cortez discussing her Thanksgiving turkey drive, which allegedly funneled donations into her campaign funds rather than directly to a non-profit organization.
The speculation surrounding Ocasio-Cortez's future political aspirations has been fueled by rumors and reports suggesting she may be eyeing a Senate seat or the presidency in 2028. In the video shared by Ingraham, Ocasio-Cortez highlighted her efforts in distributing 1,600 turkeys during Thanksgiving.
On the Republican side, the 2028 presidential race is generating considerable interest, given that President Donald Trump will not be eligible for a third term. Names like Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have surfaced as potential contenders. Meanwhile, the Democratic landscape appears more uncertain. A poll from June indicated that 62 percent of Democrats believe "the leadership of the Democrat Party should be replaced with new people."
A more recent poll conducted in November by Politico revealed a lack of consensus among Democrats regarding their party's leadership. When asked, "Who do you consider to be the leader of the Democratic Party?" the most common response was "I don't know," with 21 percent expressing uncertainty. Kamala Harris garnered 16 percent of the responses, while other names received single-digit support.
The apparent lack of a clear Democratic frontrunner for 2028 could provide an opening for Ocasio-Cortez, who is often associated with the far-left wing of the party. This scenario might enhance her prospects as a viable candidate for the White House, should she decide to pursue the presidency.
