JD Vance Criticizes Thomas Massie, Says Hes Refused To Support Key Votes

During a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi, Vice President JD Vance expressed frustration with Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), highlighting his consistent opposition to party lines.

"Having your own opinions is one thing. Voting against the party on every single issue, youre eventually going to make too many enemies, and that is the problem that Thomas has had," Vance remarked to the audience. His comments underscore a growing rift within the Republican Party, particularly concerning Massie's voting record.

According to Breitbart, Vance elaborated on the challenges Massie's stance has posed, stating, "Its not one issue. Its not three or four issues. Its that every time that weve needed Thomas for a vote, he has been completely unwilling to provide it."

This persistent divergence from party expectations has led President Donald Trump to withdraw support from Massie, instead endorsing a primary challenger. Vance explained, "Its because we can never count on him for some of the most difficult votes. I wish that that werent the case. I say that as somebody whos known Thomas well before I got into politics, but politics is politics, and when you always vote against the party, you cant expect the party to actually back [you]."

President Trump has thrown his support behind Ed Gallrein, who has criticized Massie for obstructing the Trump agenda. Gallrein, speaking to Breitbart News Saturday, described Massie as a "roadblock" to the policies that Kentuckians overwhelmingly supported. He emphasized the urgency of aligning with Trump's vision to counteract what he perceives as the failures of the Biden administration, drawing parallels to the Carter era.

Gallrein, a seasoned farmer and former Navy SEAL and Army Ranger officer, argued that Massie's actions threaten the opportunity to restore national greatness amid domestic and global challenges.

Gallrein also pointed to Massie's tenure as indicative of the need for term limits, accusing him of hypocrisy. "And hes one of those typical hypocritical, you know, politicians term limits for thee but not for me. Hes asking for an eighth term for the voice of Kentucky four," Gallrein asserted, further claiming that Massie "reflects the voice of AOC more than he does Kentucky four."

This critique highlights a broader conservative sentiment advocating for fresh leadership and adherence to traditional Republican values.
