Walmart CEO Humiliates George Stephanopoulos In Epic Trump Smackdown!

George Stephanopoulos, the ABC News anchor, has recently been subjected to a series of public embarrassments.

In an interview last week, Vice President JD Vance criticized Stephanopoulos for perpetuating false narratives, leading to an abrupt termination of the interview by ABC.

According to Gateway Pundit, Stephanopoulos attempted to corner Vance with a dubious story. However, Vance's pushback left Stephanopoulos in an awkward position, forcing him to end the interview prematurely without giving Vance an opportunity to respond.

In a subsequent incident, President Trump declined to entertain a question from an ABC News reporter during a bilateral lunch with the Argentine President. This was in response to Stephanopoulos's conduct during his interview with Vice President Vance. President Trump stated, "Youre ABC Fake News! I dont take questions from ABC Fake News after what you did with Stephanopoulos to the Vice President of the United States. I dont take questions from ABC Fake News."

In another attempt to salvage his reputation, Stephanopoulos tried to provoke John Furner, the CEO of Walmart U.S., into criticizing President Trump's tariffs for allegedly damaging the economy. However, Furner did not fall for the bait, further embarrassing Stephanopoulos.

Stephanopoulos suggested that the economy was in a downward spiral, citing a rise in turkey prices ahead of Thanksgiving. Furner countered this claim, stating that Walmart's turkey prices would be at their "lowest since 2019," and their Thanksgiving basket for ten would be "$14 cheaper than last year."

Furner elaborated, "We are really excited for what we have planned this year at Thanksgiving. I cant believe its already that time of year. But this is a time of year when people are busy. They dont want to sacrifice quality and we want to do all we can to help them to celebrate the holiday any way they want and we want to do it in a way thats very affordable with a lot of value."

He added, "So I want to talk about a couple things with the Thanksgiving basket. First, we started putting this idea together, of having the entire basket easy to purchase, easy to assemble back in 2022. And this year, we will have the best prices on this basket since the program started. Were down about 25% since last year, down about $14 for the basket, which puts us in a position where this basket is just under $4 a person serving 10 people. Our turkey prices, George, are all the way back to what they were in 2019 at 97 cents a pound."

Stephanopoulos then tried to get Furner to complain about President Trump's tariffs contributing to higher costs. However, Furner responded, "Well George, as you know, were selling a really wide variety of products and about two-thirds of what we sell is either made, grown, or assembled in the United States. And out merchants have done a nice job of mixing things out and this basket is a great example of where were keeping prices down."

Furner further explained, "The other thing we do at Walmart is called Rollback pricing, which weve had for decades. And as we stand here today to talk to today, we have about 7,000 items Rollback which is up about 1,000 from where we began at the beginning of the year."

These incidents highlight the challenges faced by Stephanopoulos in his attempts to push a narrative that aligns with his political leanings. However, his interviewees have consistently countered his claims, leading to public embarrassments and a loss of credibility.
