Not The First Time: Katie Porter Caught In Leaked Past Rant Against Staffer! (Watch)

The political landscape in California is heating up as Katie Porter, a former Democratic Representative, faces mounting criticism.

Porter, who is currently vying for the governorship of California, has come under fire following the release of a video by Politico. The footage captures a heated moment from July 2021, during an online discussion with Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, where Porter is seen berating a staff member.

In the video, Porter can be heard shouting at the staffer, "Get out of my f*cking shot!" as the individual attempts to correct her on a point regarding electric vehicles. Her frustration is palpable as she continues, "You also were in my shot before that. Stay out of my shot," punctuating her words with fists pounding on the table. This incident has sparked a wave of criticism, highlighting concerns about Porter's temperament and leadership style.

According to Gateway Pundit, Porter attempted to address the situation with a statement to Politico, asserting, "Its no secret I hold myself and my staff to a high standard, and that was especially true as a member of Congress. I have sought to be more intentional in showing gratitude to my staff for their important work." However, this explanation has done little to quell the controversy surrounding her behavior.

The release of this video coincides with another contentious moment for Porter, who recently had a tense exchange with investigative journalist Julie Watts. During an interview with Watts, who is covering the California gubernatorial primary set for June 2026, Porter was the sole candidate to evade a question about the necessity of garnering support from Trump voters.

Porter dismissively remarked, "How would I need [Trump voters] in order to win? If it is me versus a Republican, I think that I will win the people who did not vote for Trump." Her refusal to engage with this segment of the electorate raises questions about her strategy and appeal to a broader voter base.

Porter's history of confrontational behavior is not new. She has previously been accused of pouring hot mashed potatoes on her ex-husband's head and threatening Irvine Mayor Farrah Khan via text, stating, "I am a United States Congress woman. You can lecture me on professionalism. And see what happens."

These incidents paint a picture of a candidate whose aggressive tactics and dismissive attitude may alienate potential supporters, particularly those who value civility and respect in political discourse. As the race for California's governorship unfolds, Porter's actions and statements will likely continue to be scrutinized, potentially impacting her campaign's trajectory.
