Mike Johnson Predicts Dems Plot For Trumps Third Impeachment If They Win The House

House Speaker Mike Johnson has issued a stark warning regarding the potential actions of Democrats should they regain control of the House of Representatives in 2026.

Speaking on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle," Johnson expressed his belief that Democrats would not hesitate to initiate another impeachment process against President Donald Trump if given the opportunity.

This conversation unfolded just as the federal government faced an impending shutdown on Wednesday. The House Republicans had managed to pass a continuing resolution to keep the government funded until November 21.

However, the Senate failed to advance the measure, falling short of the required 60 votes.

According to Western Journal, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has been insistent that Republicans agree to provide taxpayer-funded healthcare to illegal immigrants, a demand that has met with staunch opposition.

During the interview, host Laura Ingraham questioned Johnson about the GOP's precarious majority in the House. She asked, "Speaker Johnson, you have a very, very, very narrow majority. On a scale of 1-10, how likely is it that the Republicans build on this very slim majority next year?"

Johnson responded with optimism, stating, "Were gonna win the midterms. Absolutely. Were gonna have a big victory. And I think we can expand that majority, so we can keep going. We have to give President Trump four years and not two. Imagine if the Democrats took over the House, theyd impeach him."

Johnson's concerns are not unfounded, given the historical context. Democrats have previously impeached Trump twice. The first impeachment occurred on December 18, 2019, with the House passing articles of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The Senate acquitted him on February 5, 2020.

The second impeachment took place on January 13, 2021, just a week before Trump left office, with the House accusing him of incitement of insurrection. Once again, the Senate acquitted him on February 13, 2021.

The possibility of a third impeachment looms large, as Democrats have demonstrated their willingness to pursue legal actions against Trump, from state charges in New York and Georgia to a federal case following the raid on his residence. Their rhetoric has intensified, and there have been alarming incidents of attempted violence against Trump.

The stakes are high for Republicans, as losing control of the House could pave the way for another impeachment attempt. Johnson's assertion underscores the necessity for Trump to maintain his political momentum to safeguard his mandate and the nation's interests.

In the current political climate, where Democrats appear determined to obstruct and challenge Trump and his allies, the GOP's ability to retain its hold on the House is crucial. The potential consequences of a Democratic majority are clear, and the importance of a strong Republican presence in Congress cannot be overstated.
