Hamas has reportedly composed a letter addressed to President Donald Trump, seeking his intervention to secure a 60-day ceasefire.
In exchange, they propose the immediate release of half the hostages currently held in Gaza.
This information comes from a senior official within the Trump administration and another source directly engaged in the negotiations. The letter is anticipated to reach President Trump this week.
As reported by Fox News, President Trump has been actively working to mediate peace on the international front. He has consistently urged Hamas to release all hostages taken during the brutal attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
During a recent visit to England, President Trump emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating his desire for the hostages to be freed "now right now."
In a post on Truth Social earlier this month, President Trump issued a stern warning to Hamas, declaring, "Everyone wants the Hostages HOME. Everyone wants this War to end! The Israelis have accepted my Terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well. I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting. This is my last warning, there will not be another one!"
Furthermore, in a March 5 Truth Social post, President Trump reiterated his demands, stating, "Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you."
He continued, "I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job, not a single Hamas member will be safe if you dont do as I say. I have just met with your former Hostages whose lives you have destroyed. This is your last warning! RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY LATER!"
President Trump's resolute approach highlights his commitment to ensuring the safety and freedom of the hostages while maintaining a strong alliance with Israel.
