In a shocking development, Utah Governor Spencer Cox has disclosed that Tyler Robinson, the alleged assassin of Charlie Kirk, was cohabiting with a transgender partner.
Kirk was tragically killed during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University, with Robinson purportedly executing the attack using a long-range bolt-action rifle.
Governor Cox, in a series of interviews on Sunday, confirmed the reports of Robinson's romantic involvement with a transgender individual. He emphasized that Robinson was "deeply indoctrinated in leftist ideology," which he had openly expressed to his family.
"There were conversations that were discussed specifically about Charlie Kirk," Cox noted, adding that this information was sourced from Robinson's family and friends.
According to One America News, Cox further confirmed that Robinson's transgender partner is cooperating with law enforcement authorities. "The roommate was a romantic partner, a male transitioning to female," Cox stated.
"This partner has been incredibly cooperative [and] had no idea that this was happening. And, hes working with investigators right now." The discovery of anti-fascist inscriptions on the weapon and ammunition seized by law enforcement further underscores Robinson's ideological leanings.
Governor Cox also recounted a conversation with President Donald Trump regarding the assassination. The President, who has personal experience with gun violence, expressed his anger over the incident. "It was a long conversation where we talked about lots of things, but it was very sobering," Cox stated. "[Trump] knows better than anyone as someone who literally was injured by a bullet." Cox added, "I understand hes also very angry. And I get that this is his close personal friend. Anger is a normal reaction."
Robinson and his transgender partner resided in an apartment within the same community as his parents in St. George, Utah, approximately four hours from the site of the assassination. Senior FBI officials, speaking with Fox News, confirmed the partner's cooperation, stating they "had no idea" of Robinson's alleged plans.
The FBI has confiscated items from their apartment, including computers, as part of their investigation.
An FBI spokesperson highlighted the extensive nature of the investigation, stating, "The FBI is investigating a record number of tips. Every connection, every group, every link will be investigated and anyone involved in this matter, anywhere in the world they might be, will be brought to justice."
While the FBI has not disclosed whether Robinson's partner will face charges, the individual is not currently accused of any criminal involvement in Kirk's assassination.
As the investigation unfolds, questions remain about the extent of Robinson's ideological influences and the potential implications for those around him. The cooperation of his partner with law enforcement may prove crucial in unraveling the details of this tragic event.
