In a defiant stance against those who seek to silence conservative voices, Ben Shapiro, the Editor Emeritus of the Daily Wire, has pledged to continue his tours on college campuses.
This comes in the wake of the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA. Shapiro has dismissed any speculation that he would cease his campus visits and has instead vowed to persist in his fight for conservative values.
According to the Western Journal, Shapiro made a solemn promise to uphold Kirk's legacy within the conservative movement. "I will be coming to college campuses, many of them this year. So will we all, Im sure, because were Americans and were not going to be deterred. Charlies voice is not silent," Shapiro declared.
He further expressed his determination to continue the discourse, despite any attempts to intimidate or suppress free speech.
Shapiro's impassioned speech continued, "Were gonna pick up that blood-stained microphone where Charlie left it. And to those who would intimidate, who would seek to stop us, who would seek to end free discussion, who would believe that they have ownership over public spaces and can violently threaten and kill people who speak freely, we are not going to stop and I have two words: F*** you."
He emphasized the importance of truth and open debate in the face of adversity. "We will not stop telling the truth, we will never stop telling the truth. We will never stop debating and discussing. We will never stop standing up for what America is and what she should be. And we will never let Charlie Kirks voice die. Goodbye to my friend, Charlie Kirk. May your memory be a blessing for your family and for your country and for all of us," Shapiro concluded.
Kirk was assassinated by a sniper who fired a bullet from a bolt-action rifle from the roof of a building 200 yards away. The rifle was later found in a nearby wooded area, along with cartridges bearing pro-transgender and pro-Antifa messages.
In a disturbing twist, some left-wing individuals and Democrats have either celebrated Kirk's death or shifted the blame onto President Donald Trump for the rise in political violence. Laura Sosh-Lightsy, a former assistant dean at Middle Tennessee State University, was dismissed from her position after expressing "zero sympathy" for Kirk on Facebook.
Similarly, Charles H.F. Davis, an assistant professor at the University of Michigan, described Kirk's assassination as a "solution" to "violent rhetoric spewed by empowered people." MSNBC terminated political analyst Matthew Dowd for suggesting that Kirk had brought his assassination upon himself through his alleged "hate speech."
In a show of respect for Kirk's contributions to the conservative movement, President Trump announced that he would posthumously award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Vice President J.D. Vance also arranged for Kirk's casket to be flown from Utah to his home state of Arizona on Air Force Two, accompanied by his friends and family.
This tragic event underscores the importance of upholding the principles of free speech and open debate, even in the face of adversity.
