During a recent appearance on Fox News Channel's "Hannity," Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) made striking allegations regarding the origins of the Trump-Russia narrative.
He described the situation as a "conspiracy" orchestrated by 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to divert attention from her own email scandal. Graham's comments shed light on newly declassified information that he claims reveals a coordinated effort to undermine President Donald Trump.
According to Breitbart, Graham elaborated on the controversial FISA warrant against Carter Page, which was primarily based on the Steele dossier. He pointed out that the FBI, despite knowing the dossier's political motivations, pursued multiple warrants.
"The sub-source, this Danchenko guy who gave information to Steele, told FBI agents, its hearsay, its bar talk. It was never meant to be used in a legal proceeding," Graham stated. He emphasized that the FBI continued to secure warrants despite these concerns.
Graham further highlighted a conversation between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, revealing their intent to prevent Trump from becoming president. He noted, "Page, Hes never going to become president, right? Strzok, No, no, he wont. Well stop him." This exchange, according to Graham, underscores the bias within the investigation known as Crossfire Hurricane.
The senator also introduced new claims about a meeting in January 2016 between Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the Soros Foundation, allegedly to devise a strategy to deflect from Clinton's email controversy. Graham cited a statement from then-President Obama, "Im not going to have my president tarnished by the Clinton email scandal," suggesting pressure on the FBI to dismiss the issue.
Moreover, Graham accused Clinton of fabricating the Trump-Russia narrative to shift focus from her email troubles. He asserted, "And at the same time, we now know from an email that Hillary Clinton, to distract from her own email scandal problems, set up the narrative that became Crossfire Hurricane, blaming Trump of being a Russian agent."
Graham claimed that this plot involved coordination between Clinton's campaign and external organizations, with the FBI allegedly complicit in advancing the narrative.
These revelations, as presented by Graham, suggest a deliberate attempt to influence the 2016 election by framing Trump as a Russian agent. The senator's assertions raise significant questions about the integrity of the investigation and the motivations behind it, calling for a closer examination of the events that unfolded during that pivotal election year.
