The Daily Beast recently retracted an article that had propagated claims from Michael Wolff, suggesting a fabricated link between First Lady Melania Trump and the notorious Jeffrey Epstein.
This decision followed a legal challenge from Melania Trump's attorney, prompting the outlet to issue an editor's note on Wednesday. The note acknowledged the removal of the story, which had initially circulated allegations made by Wolff, a seasoned biographer of President Donald Trump, during a podcast interview with The Daily Beast.
According to The Post Millennial, the article's headline, which was visible on Apple News, boldly declared: Melania Trump Very Involved in Epstein Scandal: Author. This headline has since been scrubbed from the website and is no longer retrievable through search engines.
The editor's note clarified, After this story was published, The Beast received a letter from First Lady Melania Trumps attorney challenging the headline and framing of the article. After reviewing the matter, the Beast has taken down the article and apologizes for any confusion or misunderstanding.
Despite the article's disappearance from The Daily Beast and Apple News, the podcast episode featuring Wolff's contentious remarks remains accessible on YouTube. Wolff's assertions regarding Melania Trump and Epstein can be heard starting at the 26:36 mark of the interview, which aired on Saturday and was hosted by Joanna Coles.
In this conversation, Wolff alleged that Melania met Donald Trump in 1998 through Paolo Zampolli, the founder of ID Models, who purportedly had connections to Epstein. She was very involved in this Epstein relationship, Wolff claimed. I mean, there was this model thing Shes introduced by a model agent, both of whom Trump and Epstein are involved with. Shes introduced to Trump that way. Epstein knows her well. Epstein says the first time Donald Trump and Melania have sex is on his airplane.
Wolff further elaborated on her alleged involvement in Epstein's sphere, describing it as another complicated dimension and raising questions about her participation in this whole culture of models of indeterminant age," as reported by The Wrap.
