In a startling revelation, a whistleblower has come forward with claims of being coerced by a supervisor to endorse a dubious intelligence assessment orchestrated under the Obama administration.
This assessment, which purportedly linked Russia to election interference, was described as lacking credibility and accuracy by the whistleblower, according to U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. On Wednesday, Gabbard unveiled this firsthand account, shedding light on the whistleblower's refusal to participate in what they termed a hoax, and their subsequent efforts to expose the manipulation of intelligence at the highest echelons of government.
As reported by Breitbart, the whistleblower's account details the pressure exerted by a supervisor to accept the findings of the January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA), despite the whistleblower's reservations about the discredited information underpinning those findings.
The document reveals that the supervisor suggested that agreeing with the false data was a prerequisite for career advancement. The whistleblower, however, stood firm, stating, I could not concur in good conscience based on information available that Russia favored then-candidate Donald Trump in 2016.
The whistleblower further criticized the selective use of open-source references to Russian media as evidence of the Kremlin's support for Trump, while ignoring foreign media from NATO allies that criticized Trump and backed his opponent, Hillary Clinton.
Despite numerous attempts to report the inaccuracies in the January 2017 ICA to various government officials, including the Intelligence Community Inspector General, the whistleblower's concerns were consistently disregarded.
The document also highlights how former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and other senior officials from the Obama administration privately dismissed the Steele Dossier, even as they ensured its inclusion in the January 2017 ICA. Over the past six years, the whistleblower has sought to report these concerns to more than a dozen government offices, including Special Counsel Durham and a U.S. senator, through official whistleblower channels.
Gabbard, leveraging whistleblower protections, was able to investigate and substantiate these allegations, revealing what she described as the Obama-led fabrication of an intelligence assessment that knowingly utilized false and discredited information to mislead the American public. This fabricated assessment subsequently served as the basis for numerous investigations and legal actions against President Trump and other senior officials.
In a post on X, Gabbard expressed gratitude to the whistleblower and others who have come forward, acknowledging their bravery in risking personal well-being to defend the democratic republic, ensure transparency, and hold accountable those responsible for the deception.
The newly released document follows Gabbard's assertion that former President Barack Obama directed intelligence officials to falsify documents, thereby creating a hoax that alleged significant Russian election interference, contrary to other intelligence assessments.
