Problem Solvers Caucus Wants A Sit-Down With Trump!

In a recent development, the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus has reached out to President Donald Trump, seeking a meeting to discuss three critical issues plaguing the nation: the national debt, immigration, and permitting reform.

The caucus, represented by co-chairs Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., and Tom Suozzi, D-N.Y., penned the letter on behalf of nearly 50 lawmakers, expressing the urgency for comprehensive bipartisan solutions to these issues.

As reported by Newsmax, the lawmakers wrote, "The American people are tired of gridlock in Washington. They want Republicans and Democrats to work together to solve problems."

This sentiment was echoed by Fitzpatrick, who stated, "In a time of deep challenge and division, we see a real opportunity to lead with unity, govern with patriotic common sense, and reaffirm that what binds us as Americans will always be stronger than what divides us. We look forward to working with the President to seize that opportunity and meet this moment together."

The lawmakers commended President Trump for his efforts in "restoring order to the border," but emphasized that there is still much to be done. They proposed a permanent solution to secure the border and overhaul the "overwhelmed asylum system."

The national debt, according to the lawmakers, poses a "long-term threat to our economy." They suggested, "While cutting wasteful spending is a start, we will need to take a comprehensive look at both sides of the balance sheet spending and revenue in order to solve this problem. We propose establishing a fiscal commission: a bipartisan, bicameral group of lawmakers and experts working together to develop a plan to stabilize our nation's finances."

In addition to the national debt and immigration, the lawmakers also expressed their desire to streamline the process of building in America by reforming the "outdated permitting system." They wrote, "We came close to a comprehensive permitting reform deal at the end of the 118th Congress, and we are confident we can find a way to get to yes this time around."

The bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus's letter to President Trump signifies a call for unity and cooperation among lawmakers to address the nation's pressing issues. The caucus's focus on the national debt, immigration, and permitting reform reflects their commitment to finding comprehensive solutions that will benefit the American people.

Their approach, which emphasizes bipartisan cooperation and common sense, is a refreshing departure from the gridlock that often characterizes Washington politics.

The lawmakers' proposal to establish a fiscal commission to stabilize the nation's finances is a testament to their commitment to fiscal responsibility and economic stability. Similarly, their call for immigration reform and a secure border aligns with conservative values of law and order, while their push for permitting reform reflects a desire for efficiency and economic growth.

The caucus's letter to President Trump is a significant step towards bipartisan problem-solving in Washington. It remains to be seen how the President will respond to their call for a meeting and whether their proposals will lead to meaningful reform in these critical areas.
