The University of Connecticut mens basketball coach accidentally ignored a call from the White House after his team took the national championship crown in this years NCAA March Madness tournament.

Fox News reports that coach Dan Hurley is very much all about focusing on the business ahead of him. He was so focused on the work ahead of him that he failed to take a call from the White House.

Generally speaking, after a team wins the NCAA March Madness tournament, they receive a call from the White House to invite them and their coach to the White House. However, Hurley accidentally ignored the call.

Coach Hurley spoke with the Athletic and said: It doesnt come up on your caller ID like Joe Biden, and I just assumed when the president calls, it would be someone interrupting your call saying, The president is on the line.

The coach was on a call with a potential recruit to his program when he saw that he was getting a call from a 202 area code (the area code for Washington DC). He let the call go to voicemail. He said he received a voicemail from the White House about this. He said that he didnt think anything of it.

Fox News reports that it is unclear if the UConn Huskies will accept the invitation to the White House.

The LSU womens basketball team received an invite from the White House after they won the womens tournament. However, it was a controversial move after reports emerged that First Lady Jill Biden reportedly wanted to invite the runner-up Iowa Hawkeyes to the White House as well.

The First Lady later apologized for having suggested that both teams be invited. However, the womens tournament MVP, Angel Reese, said she would meet with the Obamas.

Reese said: Im not gonna lie to you, I dont accept an apology because of, you said what you said. ... I said what I said. And like, you cant go back on certain things that you say, and I mean, you, like, felt like they shouldve came because of sportsmanship, right? They can have that spotlight. Well go to the Obamas, well see Michelle, well see Barack.. She was speaking on the Paper Route podcast when she made these comments.

LSU accepted the invitation to the White House, and Reese said she would be joining her team and going.
