Fetterman Goes Rogue: Torches L.A. Rioters While Fellow Dems Stay Silent!

Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania has taken a notable stance, diverging from his Democratic colleagues by openly condemning the recent anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles.

He characterized the unrest as "anarchy and true chaos," distancing himself from the party's prevailing narrative.

In a statement shared on X, Fetterman expressed his unwavering support for "free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration." However, he was quick to clarify that the violent incidents in Los Angeles, which included attacks on law enforcement, vandalism, and looting, do not align with these principles.

"I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigrationbut this is not that," he asserted. "This is anarchy and true chaos. My party loses the moral high ground when we refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement."

According to Breitbart, Fetterman's remarks stand in contrast to other prominent Democrats, including California Governor Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, former Vice President Kamala Harris, and Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey, who have described the riots as "peaceful protests."

Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Joel Pollak highlighted that Democrats have attributed the riots to President Donald Trump's policies, particularly his actions against illegal immigration and the federalization of California's National Guard.

In response to the escalating violence, President Trump signed a presidential memorandum to federalize 2,000 National Guardsmen, a move that has been met with criticism from Democratic leaders. They argue that this decision represents "a dangerous escalation meant to provoke chaos." Kamala Harris, in a statement, condemned the deployment, linking it to what she described as the Trump Administration's "cruel, calculated agenda to spread panic and division."

Governor Newsom echoed these sentiments, accusing Trump of being "purposefully inflammatory" and warning that the federalization of the National Guard would "only escalate tensions." Similarly, California Senator Adam Schiff criticized the President's actions, labeling them as "unprecedented" and designed to "inflame tensions, sow chaos, and escalate the situation."

As the situation unfolds, the divide between Fetterman's condemnation and the broader Democratic response underscores a significant rift within the party. This divergence highlights the ongoing debate over how best to address civil unrest while balancing the principles of free speech and public safety.
