In a recent development, President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Elon Musk, cautioning that there would be "serious consequences" should the tech mogul decide to support Democratic candidates financially.
This declaration was made during a phone interview with NBC News, where the President stated, "If he does, hell have to pay the consequences for that." However, the specifics of these consequences were not elaborated upon.
According to Fox News, President Trump expressed no desire to mend his relationship with Musk, the CEO of Tesla. When questioned about the status of their relationship, Trump reportedly responded, "I would assume so, yeah," indicating that he believes their association has reached its end.
Furthermore, Trump conveyed to Fox News Chief Political Anchor Bret Baier that he has "no intention" of engaging in dialogue with Musk.
The discord between Trump and Musk has intensified swiftly, originating from Musk's criticism of the Trump-endorsed "Big Beautiful Bill" following the conclusion of Trump's administration. Musk voiced his disapproval on X, stating, "Im sorry, but I just cant stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination."
He further admonished those who supported the bill, asserting, "Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it."
In a series of now-deleted posts on X, Musk made incendiary claims, including an accusation linking Trump to files associated with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Additionally, Musk concurred with a post advocating for Trump's impeachment and suggested that Vice President JD Vance assume leadership.
Musk also criticized the bill, arguing that it "more than defeats all the cost savings achieved by the DOGE team at great personal cost and risk."
During a conversation with Baier, Trump remarked, "Elons totally lost it," and later took to Truth Social to express his views, stating that Musk should have distanced himself "months ago." Trump defended the bill, describing it as "one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress," and emphasized its significance in setting the nation "on a Path of Greatness," rallying his supporters with the call to "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
The relationship between Trump and Musk, once seemingly amicable, began when Musk endorsed Trump after a near-assassination attempt on the then-candidate in Butler, Pennsylvania, during a campaign rally.
Musk's subsequent involvement with the Trump administration as the leader of DOGE marked a period of collaboration that now appears to have unraveled amidst their escalating feud.
