In the wake of surviving two assassination attempts during his campaign and securing the presidency, President Trump continues to face threats from radical elements on the left.

The latest incident involves the arrest of Shannon Depararro Atkins, a 46-year-old resident of West Palm Beach, Florida, who has been charged with making death threats against Trump on social media.

As reported by Gateway Pundit, West Palm Beach Police Chief Tony Araujo announced Atkins' arrest at a press conference, revealing that detectives had uncovered "disturbing posts" filled with "violent rhetoric" on Atkins' Facebook account. Among these posts, Atkins allegedly referenced historical figures such as Lincoln, JFK, Reagan, Martin Luther King Jr., and Trump, ominously noting, "Unfortunately, one is still alive." He further escalated his rhetoric with statements like, "Bullets, please. Jesus, save America," and expressed a desire for assassination, lamenting, "We havent had an assassination in years."

Atkins was apprehended on Friday evening while driving a white 2013 BMW near one of his residences. Upon his arrest, authorities discovered three bags of cocaine in his possession, which tested positive. During an interview, Atkins admitted to authoring the inflammatory Facebook posts but claimed they were intended as jokes. Chief Araujo emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, "Folks, this is not a joke. Nothing of that sort is a joke."

The Secret Service has been notified and is currently evaluating the case to determine whether federal charges will be pursued. Meanwhile, Atkins faces state charges in Florida, including drug possession and making written or electronic threats to kill, inflict bodily harm, or commit acts of terrorism.

Further details from Fox News highlight Atkins' social media activity, which includes support for transgender individuals and the Obamas, alongside vitriolic comments advocating violence against Trump. One particularly alarming post called for Trump's assassination, likening it to the fates of Lincoln, JFK, and Martin Luther King Jr. Another post suggested that Michelle Obama would have been "in the middle of crossfire" had she attended Trump's inauguration. Atkins also made a provocative return to the social media platform X, declaring, "I'm back you MAGA PIECES OF SH*T!"

Atkins' online presence is marked by a series of pro-transgender messages, contrasting sharply with his violent rhetoric against Trump. His posts also included a meme referencing Trump's late ex-wife, Ivana Trump, with the caption, "I hope they get back together soon."

This incident underscores the ongoing threats faced by public figures and the critical need for vigilance in addressing such dangerous rhetoric. As the investigation unfolds, the potential for federal charges looms, highlighting the serious nature of these threats and the imperative to uphold the rule of law.
