In a dynamic display of commitment to his campaign promises, President Donald Trump has taken decisive action to rectify the issues he believes were created by the Biden administration.
Addressing a crowd in Nevada, the President declared that he had already signed close to 350 executive actions aimed at resolving the "calamities" left by his predecessor.
Among the actions taken by Trump, border security has been a significant focus. He has restarted the construction of the border wall, reinstated the Remain in Mexico policy, halted the CBP One App, and deployed military forces to the border. "On Day One, I directed every member of my cabinet to marshal all powers at their disposal to defeat inflation...imposed a federal hiring freeze, a regulation freeze, a foreign aid freeze...created DOGE...terminated the Green New Scam... PROMISES MADE. PROMISES KEPT," Trump stated, as reported by RedState.
The President's actions have not been limited to border security. He has also pledged to make the Trump tax cuts permanent, a move that he believes the Democrats would not have taken had Kamala Harris won the election. Furthermore, he has promised to work towards additional tax cuts and the elimination of tax on tips, a move that would significantly benefit many Americans, particularly those in the vast hospitality industry in Nevada. "Near the top of the agenda... is to pass a massive tax cut for American workers and families... I'll be working with Congress to get a bill on my desk to cut taxes... keeps my promise for NO TAX ON TIPS!" Trump announced.
In addition to these tax-related promises, Trump has also put a stop to the hiring of new IRS agents. He is currently considering either terminating the 87,000 agents that the Democrats intended to impose on the American people or potentially relocating them to the border, a suggestion that was met with enthusiastic applause from the crowd.
The President also hinted at a radical move: the complete abolition of income tax. He suggested that this could be a possibility if his tariffs policy proves successful. "How about just no tax? You know if the tariffs work out, a thing like that could happen," Trump mused. While the logistics of such a move would undoubtedly be complex, the mere discussion of it indicates Trump's willingness to push boundaries and instigate significant change.
Trump's commitment to his campaign promises has been evident in his first week in office, with his actions reflecting a desire to move away from what he perceives as the mess left by the previous administration. He concluded his address with a firm commitment to his term in office: "It will be the greatest honor of my life to serve not once, but twice... For the next four years, I will not rest, I will not yield, and together, we will not fail. We will WIN WIN WIN!"
The President's actions and promises reflect his commitment to traditional values, limited government, and individual freedom. His focus on border security, tax cuts, and the potential abolition of income tax align with conservative viewpoints and demonstrate a clear departure from the policies of the Biden administration.
