Jayapal's 'Assault Weapon Vs. Concert Ticket' Debate Misses A Major Detail!

Congresswoman Jayapal's recent social media post has sparked controversy, as it seemingly reveals her lack of understanding regarding the nation's existing gun laws.

In her post, she lamented, It shouldnt be easier to buy an assault weapon than concert tickets. This statement, however, overlooks the fact that purchasing firearms in the United States requires passing a federal background check, a requirement not applicable to buying concert tickets. Furthermore, the right to bear arms is a constitutionally protected right, unlike the purchase of concert tickets.

According to Gateway Pundit, the congresswoman's call for stricter gun laws is not only constitutionally questionable but also ineffective, as demonstrated by recent events in New York City. In a tragic incident that underscores the futility of stringent gun control laws, a mother and her 12-year-old daughter were among six people injured during a shooting in the Bronx. The incident occurred in a convenience store where the intended targets used the victims as human shields. Despite New York's comprehensive firearm restrictions, criminals continue to cause chaos, leading residents to question the effectiveness of Governor Kathy Hochuls progressive policies.

The surveillance footage from the scene painted a terrifying picture of the incident. Two gunmen opened fire on rivals outside G&W Grocery on White Plains Road near East 211th Street in the Gunhill neighborhood, as reported by the New York Post. As the bullets started flying, the intended targets sought refuge in the store, inadvertently dragging innocent shoppers into the line of fire. The mother was shot in the stomach while trying to protect her child, who was hit in the leg, as revealed by Interim Chief of Department John Chell during a press briefing.

The Second Amendment was established to uphold the right of the people to resist any government that becomes tyrannical, as promised in the Declaration of Independence. It is indeed ironic that a congresswoman, seemingly unaware of the current laws, advocates for further constitutional infringements. Specifically, the part of the Constitution designed to protect us from tyrannical politicians.
