In a recent announcement, former President Donald Trump unveiled his 'America First' team, a group of dedicated patriots set to work closely with Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth.

The team's primary objective is to restore the American military to its former glory, a task that aligns with the conservative values of limited government and individual freedom.

According to Gateway Pundit, Hegseth is slated to face his initial public questioning from U.S. senators on January 14, 2025, a mere six days before Trump's inauguration on January 20th. Hegseth will not be alone in this endeavor, as he has the backing of over 100 Navy SEALs and more than 120 retired U.S. generals and admirals.

Trump took to Truth Social to introduce the new Department of Defense team. He stated, I am pleased to announce a slate of America First Patriots, who will work in conjunction with our GREAT Secretary of Defense Nominee, Pete Hegseth! This statement underscores the team's commitment to prioritizing American interests, a key tenet of conservative ideology.

The team includes Stephen Feinberg, a successful businessman and Princeton graduate, who will serve as Deputy Secretary of Defense. Feinberg's role will be to "Make the Pentagon Great Again," a task he is well-equipped for, given his previous experience as Chairman of the Intelligence Advisory Board from 2018 to January 2021.

Elbridge 'Bridge' Colby, a respected advocate for America First foreign and defense policy, will serve as Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. Colby, a Harvard College and Yale Law School graduate, previously served with distinction in the Pentagon during Trump's first term, leading the effort on the landmark 2018 Defense strategy.

Michael Duffey, a strong advocate for Warfighters and the American taxpayer, will serve as the next Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition & Sustainment. Duffey's role will involve driving change at the Pentagon and revitalizing the Defense Industrial Base.

Emil Michael, a successful tech entrepreneur and Harvard University graduate, will serve as the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. Michael's role will involve ensuring that the American military has the most technologically advanced weapons in the world, a task he is well-suited for given his previous experience as a Special Assistant to the Secretary of Defense.

Keith Bass, a retired Navy Commander with over 30 years of healthcare experience, will serve as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs. Bass's role will involve ensuring the health and wellbeing of American troops, a task he is well-equipped for given his previous leadership roles in the Department of Defense, the Central Intelligence Agency, and the White House Medical Unit.

Finally, Joe Kasper, who served in various roles at the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security during Trump's first term, will serve as Chief of Staff for the Secretary of Defense. Kasper's extensive experience on Capitol Hill and his instrumental role in matters of National Defense make him a valuable addition to the team.

Hegseth, the Secretary of Defense nominee, praised the team Trump is assembling, stating that it will Make America Strong and SAFE Again. This sentiment echoes the conservative principle of a strong national defense, underscoring the team's commitment to restoring America's military might.
