Donald Trump, the potential Republican presidential candidate for 2024, is reportedly planning a visit to a McDonald's in Pennsylvania, where he intends to "work the fry cooker.
".
This move is seen as a counter to Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris' narrative about her time working at the fast-food chain during her college years.
According to The Post Millennial, the specifics of Trump's fry cook appearance remain uncertain. However, it is known that he is scheduled to attend a rally at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Pittsburgh on Saturday and a Steelers-Jets game on Sunday.
Harris has frequently mentioned her stint at McDonald's while she was a student. However, the fact-checking website Snopes has labeled this claim as "unproven," stating, "aside from Harris' testimony itself, there is no evidence (such as a photo, employment record or confirmation from a friend or family member) to independently verify the claim."
In a speech delivered in late September, Trump announced his intention to visit a McDonald's in October. "I think Im going to a McDonalds in two weeks actually and Im gonna work the french fries because I will have worked longer and harder at McDonalds than she did if I do that even for a half-hour," he said, as reported by the New York Post.
Trump also criticized Harris' claims of working at the fast-food chain. "We dont want to hear fake promises, even something like she worked very long and hard hours over french fries at McDonalds. She never worked at McDonalds. Its a fake story," he stated. This move by Trump underscores the importance of authenticity in political narratives and the potential repercussions of unverified claims.
