Vice President Kamala Harris recently broke her silence and appeared on various platforms, including podcasts, daytime liberal talk shows, and a town hall, according to an opinion editorial by Christopher Bedford of The Blaze.
However, these appearances have not been without their share of awkward moments, which have been widely circulated on the internet, contributing to a further decline in her polling numbers.
Bedford suggests that if Harris's discussions with sex podcasters about their shared support for abortion had resonated with swing-state voters, she would not be seeking appearances on Fox News or attempting to secure a spot on Joe Rogan's show. In a bid to boost her popularity, Harris is set to appear on Fox News with Bret Baier and is reportedly in talks to feature on Joe Rogan's podcast.
Bedford discusses the implications of these appearances, noting that while Fox News is often perceived as a hostile environment for Democrats, its news hosts are generally moderate. He describes Baier as a fair interviewer who is likely to conduct a firm but respectful interview with Harris.
Joe Rogan, on the other hand, is a different proposition. Known for his reluctance to interview powerful figures, Rogan has built a substantial following with his unique approach. Bedford notes that Rogan has been slow to accept his potential influence in political matters, and it remains unclear whether he will agree to interview Harris and former President Donald Trump.
Bedford questions whether Harris can withstand the scrutiny of a two-hour on-air conversation with Rogan, given her mechanical performance during a 15-minute interview with "60 Minutes." He suggests that Harris struggles when discussing policy but becomes more animated when talking about her personal life. However, when allowed to speak freely, her "make-believe biography-pandering hits parody levels," according to Bedford.
Bedford concludes by suggesting that Harris's recent media appearances indicate her struggle to connect with voters. He reiterates that if her previous engagements had been successful, she would not be seeking appearances on Fox News and Joe Rogan's show. Despite these challenges, Bedford acknowledges that with a billion dollars raised in three months, anything is possible.
In related news reported by The Blaze, a senior Harris campaign adviser has reportedly stated that Democrats are in 'freakout' mode because her lead over Trump was fake. 'The View' host Sunny Hostin has also suggested that media outlets need to do more to help Kamala Harris.
