Harry Potter author J.
K Rowling has taken another controversial stance as she has taken up the cause of defending the controversial womens rights activist Posie Parker. Trans-rights activists have attacked Parker in New Zealand for being a TERF, or a Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist.
Breitbart London spoke with police, who said they told Parker she was lucky to be alive. This came after pro-transgender activists disrupted one of her events where she spoke about defending womens rights. Breitbart London reported:
She was in Antipodes as part of her Let Women Speak tour, which attracted a substantial number of supporters but also large numbers of aggressive pro-trans activists, encouraged to protest her events by celebrity leftists such as Billy Bragg.
The report added: One such protest in Auckland drew some 2,000 demonstrators, and which reported barriers erected to separate the factions torn down and skirmishes with Parkers supporters, as well as a protester rushing the stage where she was attempting to speak and dousing her and a security guard with what thankfully turned out to be juice.
J.K. Rowling has been an outspoken critic of the transgender radicalism movement. She took to Twitter to express her feelings about what happened to Parker. In particular, Rowling wanted to go after Auckland Pride after they attempted to downplay the incident on their Twitter account. Auckland Pride said:
We are of the firm belief that the demonstration of unity, celebration, and acceptance alongside joyous music, chanting, and noise of 5,000 supporters was too loud to overcome and the reason for her departure and not the actions of any one individual.
They added:
We also reject that there was any further physical threat from our community towards Parker. This is a baseless rumour that is being perpetrated by those who feel defeated by the events of today. We urge the media not to repeat these allegations without evidence.
However, J.K. Rowling responded to this with her point of view by saying:
There are multiple videos of Kellie-Jay being assaulted. Women have become used to lies, threats of violence and outright denial of reality, but if you imagine anyone feels defeated, think again. Your mens rights activists showed the world exactly who they are.
Rowling is known for this kind of thing; she isnt about letting anyone trample on her opinions, ideas, and cultural commentary.
