In a recent video message, former First Lady Melania Trump expressed her dismay over the FBI's intrusion into her privacy during a 2022 raid at her Mar-a-Lago residence, a move she described as a "warning to all Americans."
"I never imagined my privacy would be invaded by the government here in America," Melania Trump lamented in the video. She detailed the unsettling experience, stating, The FBI raided my home in Florida and searched through my personal belongings."
According to The Post Millennial, Melania Trump's comments extend beyond her personal experience, serving as a cautionary tale for all American citizens. She emphasized, "This is not just my story, it serves as a warning to all Americans, a reminder that our freedom and rights must be respected.
During the time of the raid, former President Donald Trump shared his wife's feelings of violation, particularly highlighting the agents' rummaging through her personal items and leaving them in a state of disarray. "They go into her closet, they go through her dresses, and who knows what else," he said. "And it wasnt left the way they found it."
In response to this perceived violation, Donald Trump has declared his intention to sue the Department of Justice for a staggering $100 million in damages. His legal team has framed the raid as a politically motivated act of persecution.
Trump's attorney, Daniel Epstein, explained to Fox News, "What President Trump is doing here is not just standing up for himself he is standing up for all Americans who believe in the rule of law and believe that you should hold the government accountable when it wrongs you." Epstein further argued that the FBI and DOJ's decision to execute the raid was inconsistent with protocols requiring the consent of an investigative target, disclosure to that individuals attorneys, and the use of the local US Attorneys Office."
Melania Trump's public statement comes at a time when she is promoting her forthcoming memoir, Melania, due for release in October. The video is one of several public statements she has made recently, signaling a notable increase in visibility for the former First Lady, who has largely remained out of the limelight during her husbands multiple presidential campaigns.
