In a recent incident at former President Donald Trump's golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, shots were reportedly fired by Secret Service agents.
The agents responded to a man seen on the course who they believed was armed. Vice President Kamala Harris and the White House have since issued statements regarding the incident.
According to The Post Millennial, the White House confirmed that both President Joe Biden and Vice President Harris were informed about the security breach at Trump International Golf Course, where the former President was golfing at the time. "The President and Vice President have been briefed about the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course, where former President Trump was golfing. They are relieved to know that he is safe," the White House stated. They also assured that the President and Vice President would receive regular updates from their team.
Vice President Harris also took to social media to express her relief at the safety of the former President. "I have been briefed on reports of gunshots fired near former President Trump and his property in Florida, and I am glad he is safe," she posted.
Following the incident, the Trump campaign issued a statement confirming the safety of the former President. "President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity," the statement read.
The suspect, who was spotted with a firearm on the golf course, was fired upon by Secret Service agents. The individual promptly fled the scene after the agents engaged but was swiftly apprehended.
