Former CNN anchor, Don Lemon, has been caught on camera seemingly ridiculing Melania Trump, the former First Lady, as she spoke about the assassination attempt on her husband, former President Donald Trump.
Lemon's dismissive reactions were captured during a video where Melania was recounting the traumatic event.
According to The Post Millennial, Lemon appeared to roll his eyes when Melania referred to the assassination attempt as a "horrible and distressing experience." As she questioned the severe law enforcement failures that allowed the shooting to occur, Lemon was seen shaking his head and gesturing with his hands in apparent disapproval.
"I can't help but wonder, why didn't law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?" Melania asked in the video. "There is definitely more to the story and we need to uncover the truth."
Melania's remarks point to a series of security lapses on the day her husband was targeted. The shooter, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, had reportedly been able to operate a drone near the rally site and was seen carrying a rangefinder and a backpack. Despite these alarming signs, Crooks was able to position himself on a rooftop and fire shots at the former President without any noticeable intervention from the Secret Service.
In the wake of public outrage over these security oversights, Kimberly Cheatle, the Director of the Secret Service, tendered her resignation. This incident underscores the importance of stringent security measures and the need for accountability in law enforcement agencies.
The video featuring Melania Trump's comments was released as part of her promotional campaign for her forthcoming memoir, "Melania," due to be released on October 1. The book is touted as "the powerful and inspiring story of a woman who has defined personal excellence, overcome adversity, and carved her own path.
