In the small town of Springfield, Ohio, a resident has raised allegations that have brought the town into the national spotlight on the issue of immigration.
The town, which has seen an influx of 20,000 Haitian illegal immigrants, is now grappling with claims that these migrants are consuming local wildlife.
According to The Post Millennial, during a Springfield City Commission meeting in late August, a resident voiced concerns about the Haitian immigrants. The resident claimed that the immigrants were "in the park grabbing up ducks by their neck and cutting their head off and walking off with them and eating them."
Springfield has been under immense pressure due to the massive arrival of Haitian illegal immigrants in recent years. This has put a significant strain on city resources and has led to an increase in homelessness. Another resident, speaking at a city commission meeting, painted a grim picture of her neighborhood, which she said was no longer safe due to the aggressive behavior of the Haitian immigrants.
The resident, expressing her frustration, said, "I dont understand what you expect of us as citizens. I understand theyre here under temporary protected status and youre protecting them but whos protecting us? If were protecting them, whos protecting me?
The Haitian immigrants are believed to have been granted protected status under the Biden-Harris administration's parole program. This program allows migrants from Haiti, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to seek entry into the U.S. if they have a U.S.-based sponsor. However, there have been widespread concerns about potential fraud within the program.
Despite these concerns, the Department of Homeland Security has recently resumed its parole program. This move permits Haitians and other immigrants to enter the U.S., often without proper vetting, raising questions about the administration's commitment to maintaining law and order and protecting American citizens.
