Hillary Clinton, former Secretary of State, was forced to miss a high-profile fundraiser for Kamala Harris due to a sudden bout with COVID-19.

The event, held in the Hamptons, was priced at a staggering $100,000 per ticket.

As reported by Gateway Pundit, Clinton's illness followed her attendance at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, which has since been identified as a COVID-19 superspreader event. Despite the attendees' vaccination status, the virus managed to infiltrate the convention, which marked the largest in-person gathering of the Democratic party since 2016.

In Clinton's absence, her husband, former President Bill Clinton, stepped in to represent her at the fundraiser. "Hillary Clinton bowed out of a Hamptons fundraiser for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz on Monday, we hear, after the former secretary of state came down with COVID-19. Husband and former President Bill Clinton stepped in, sources say, to speak at the Sag Harbor event along with Harris hubby, second gentleman Doug Emhoff," Page Six reported.

The event was hosted by renowned art collectors Lisa and Richard Perry, known for their collection of works by esteemed artists such as Frank Stella, Alexander Calder, Ellsworth Kelly, and Donald Judd. The invitation, as seen by Page Six, touted the exclusivity of the event, stating, "This is likely to be one of the last small events in the NY area before the election, so it is not to be missed."
