In a recent development, Lawrence Jones, a prominent conservative commentator, lauded former President Donald Trump for his decision to let go of his longstanding resentment against Georgia Governor Brian Kemp.
This resentment stemmed from Kemp's refusal to assist Trump in contesting the 2020 presidential election results. Jones admired the maturity displayed by both men, stating, thats how grown men handle things.
According to Mediaite, Jones' remarks came in response to a video clip of Governor Kemp commending Trump for effectively highlighting "a direct contrast with the Kamala Harris record" in recent times. Jones expressed his approval of the way Trump and Kemp set aside their differences for the greater good of the nation and their party. He said, First thing, I like how two grown men, Donald Trump, as well as the governor here, put away their differences and link up for the greater of the country and the greater of the party and say, Listen, we may disagree on some things. We may have duked it out, but we both want to win. Were going to put it aside. Thats how grown men handle things. You duke it out and then you move forward."
Jones also drew a parallel between his relationship with Brian Kilmeade, his co-host, and the Trump-Kemp dynamic. He mentioned how they sometimes have disagreements but always manage to move forward for the betterment of their show.
Kilmeade, who had recently interviewed Kemp, predicted that Trump and Kemp would likely join forces for campaigning before the upcoming election day. He confidently stated, Theyre gonna do it, I dont think theres any doubt about it. Theres too much at stake. And it doesnt make any sense because they both like each other, its all about the 2020 election, and I dont think anybody wants to talk about that right now.
Trump, who had previously been critical of Kemp for his refusal to support his attempts to challenge the 2020 election results, seemed to have changed his stance recently. As the race between Trump and Harris intensifies, Trump expressed his gratitude towards Kemp on social media, writing, Thank you to @BrianKempGA for all of your help and support in Georgia, where a win is so important to the success of our Party and, most importantly, our Country. I look forward to working with you, your team, and all of my friends in Georgia to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
This shift in Trump's attitude towards Kemp, coupled with their mutual commitment to their party and country, suggests a potential alliance that could significantly influence the political landscape.
