In the wake of Vice President Kamala Harris' keynote address at the Democratic National Convention, Donald Trump, the 2024 GOP presidential nominee, expressed skepticism about her promises for the future.
He questioned why she hadn't already tackled the issues she pledged to address under her potential administration.
According to The Post Millennial, Trump voiced his doubts during a phone interview with Fox News immediately following Harris' speech. He queried, "Why didn't she do the things that she's complaining about? All of these things that she talked about, Were gonna do this, were gonna do that, were gonna do everything, but she didnt do any of it. She could have done it three and a half years ago."
Trump further criticized Harris for her inaction, suggesting she could have immediately addressed the border issue. "She could do it tonight by leaving the auditorium and going to Washington, DC and closing the border. She doesnt need a bill, I didnt have a bill. I closed the border and created the safest border weve ever had in the history of our country."
The former president continued his critique, noting that Harris still has about five months left in her term to make changes. He characterized her speech as "a lot of complaining," and pointed out that she failed to address several key issues, including China, fracking, crime, poverty, and child trafficking.
Trump also took aim at Harris' role as border czar, stating that she has overseen the "weakest border in the history of this country. Its an invasion" occurring at the southern border. He concluded, "She talks, but she doesnt do, its no action."
In addition to his critique of Harris' policy positions and performance, Trump expressed disappointment that she declined a Fox News debate, which would have brought the two candidates face-to-face earlier than the ABC News debate scheduled for September 10. "I was going to debate on September 4, but she turned it down. And Im willing to debate her on I dont like ABC, I think ABC is probably the worst of the group, but Im willing to do ABC. I was willing to do CNN with Joe Biden and you saw what happened there," Trump said.
