Donald Trump, the Republican Party's presidential candidate for 2024, unveiled the composition of his Trump-Vance 2025 transition team on Friday.
The team, which includes his sons and JD Vance among other staunch supporters, is tasked with preparing for a seamless transition should Trump secure the presidency.
According to The Post Millennial, the transition team will be jointly led by Linda McMahon, former head of the Small Business Administration under Trump, and Howard Lutnick, the chief of financial firm Cantor Fitzgerald. The honorary chairs of the team include Senator JD Vance (R-OH), Trump's chosen running mate, and his sons, Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump.
In a statement, Trump outlined his vision for the future, saying, "The 2024 GOP Platform to Make America Great Again is a forward-looking agenda that will deliver safety, prosperity and freedom for the American people. My administration will deliver on these bold promises." He further added, "We will restore strength, competence and common sense to the Oval Office. I have absolute confidence the Trump-Vance Administration will be ready to govern effectively on Day One."
The Hill reported that Lutnick hosted a Trump fundraiser in the Hamptons in early August. McMahon, on the other hand, heads the America First Policy Institute, a think tank that supports Trump's policies. She is also the co-founder of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc (WWE).
Transition teams play a crucial role in the smooth transition of power, overseeing the planning for a new administration before the election. Their responsibilities range from vetting candidates for cabinet positions and federal government appointee jobs to formulating a policy agenda, as reported by Bloomberg.
