In a recent encounter with the press, First Lady Jill Biden responded sharply to reporters' inquiries about the growing chorus of Democrats urging President Joe Biden to withdraw from the 2024 election.
The incident occurred as the First Lady was exiting a coffee shop in Florida.
According to The Post Millennial, a reporter approached Mrs. Biden, asking, What is your message for House Democrats who are calling for your husband to drop out of the race? The reporter further probed, How are you feeling about the state of the race? The First Lady, taken aback by the intensity of the questioning, retorted, Why are you screaming at me? You know me. Dont scream at me. She then departed without addressing the reporters' questions.
The press had been invited to the event by the White House, as reported by the New York Post. However, the First Lady may not have anticipated the pointed questions typically directed at President Biden, according to a presidential spokesperson.
Despite the mounting pressure, Mrs. Biden remains steadfast in her support for her husband's 2024 campaign. The President himself has asserted his intention to stay in the race, urging Democrats on Capitol Hill to rally behind him in the impending electoral battle against former President Trump.
The First Lady's protective stance towards her husband is not new. During the 2020 campaign, she famously told now-Vice President Kamala Harris to go f*ck herself following Harris's critique of Joe Biden's past stance on interracial bussing.
This recent exchange with reporters underscores the escalating pressure on President Biden to withdraw from the race. Bill Stevenson, the First Lady's ex-husband, has suggested that Mrs. Biden is pushing her husband to the very edge of his campaign. Interestingly, Stevenson, a former supporter of President Biden, has now thrown his support behind Trump.
