In a recent revelation, it has been reported that President Biden's team prepares him with painstakingly detailed instructions for his entry and exit at fundraising events.
As per a document procured by Axios, the President's aides have been known to provide him with explicit directions, including a bold command to "Walk to podium," accompanied by photographs delineating a clear path to the podium, complete with the White House insignia.
According to Fox News, this level of meticulousness has raised eyebrows among some Democrats involved in organizing or attending Biden's events in recent months. They question whether this attention to detail is a reflection of the limitations of the 81-year-old President. "I staffed a simple fundraiser at a private residence, but they treated it like it was a NATO summit with his movements," an individual who had previously staffed a Biden event in the past 18 months disclosed to Axios.
The document Axios managed to acquire is a five-page template that the White House allegedly dispatches to staffers to prepare the President. It typically includes a large image of the event space on each page, with captions such as "View from podium," and "View from audience."
The President's less than stellar debate performance against former President Trump in Atlanta has sparked concerns within the Democratic Party about his potential to run for a second term. However, the White House maintains that these detailed instructions for the octogenarian President are standard procedure.
"High levels of detail and precision are critical to presidential advance work regardless of who is president and these are basic approaches that are used by any modern advance team, including the Vice Presidents office and agencies," White House senior deputy press secretary and deputy assistant to the president Andrew Bates said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "And then-Vice President Bidens team did the same, as did other principals, during the second term of the Obama-Biden Administration."
Vice President Harris' communications director Kirsten Allen echoed this sentiment, stating, "These documents are standard logistical briefing materials and photos for any principal including the Vice President."
An unnamed White House official told Axios that these documents are a standard part of "advance teams work," which can seem overwhelming to those unaccustomed to the intensive, detail-oriented materials, "whoever the principal is." However, Axios also quoted two former aides from Biden's vice presidency who contended that his documents were different then, focusing more on site diagrams.
