Marco Rubio Shines SPOTLIGHT On MAJOR Issues With Harris/Newsom Ticket

In the midst of growing calls for President Biden to withdraw from the race, Senator Marco Rubio, a Republican from Florida, has highlighted a potential issue with a prospective Kamala Harris-Gavin Newsom ticket.

Rubio, who is rumored to be among the leading candidates for former President Trump's vice-presidential selection, faced questioning during his appearance on CNN's "State of the Union" about his future plans should he be chosen as the running mate.

According to Fox News, CNN host Dana Bash drew attention to a constitutional stipulation that prevents presidential electors from voting for a president and vice president from the same state. Both Rubio and Trump are residents of Florida, which could potentially complicate matters.

Rubio responded to the speculation, stating, "That's presumptuous ... I have no idea who he's going to pick." He then shifted the focus to the potential Democratic ticket, saying, "But I think it's comforting for Americans to know that when Kamala Harris becomes their nominee, she can't pick [California Gov.] Gavin Newsom because I don't think we can afford, as a country, to have two Californians with their crazy policies become the law of the land."

The Florida senator confirmed his commitment to working with the Trump campaign "in some capacity" in the lead-up to Election Day, while also continuing his duties in the Senate. He emphasized his primary concern, stating, "Either way, all I care about at this point, and what I care about the most, is we can't afford another four years like the last four, and I'm willing to help in any way I can. But as far as making an announcement, that's up to him and their campaign, and I don't have one for you this morning, that's for sure."

Meanwhile, California Governor Gavin Newsom, a prominent Biden campaign surrogate, has been actively campaigning for the president in the key battleground states of Michigan and Pennsylvania. Despite his active role, Newsom has consistently sidestepped questions about his own presidential aspirations should Biden decide to step aside, leaving the Democratic delegates to convene in an open convention in Chicago next month. This leaves the political landscape in a state of uncertainty, with potential implications for the future direction of the country.
